Use Cases

Description:

Endoscopy recordings have several uses from the clinical perspective, but not very useful if the recordings cant be easily viewed or shared. TeleRay Record can record and procedure with an endoscope or camera in full fidelity DICOM to be sent to PACS or shared through the TeleRay network. Basic editing may be done quickly on the touch screen system. Options include carts or wall mounts along with Bluetooth foot pedals for easy control. Consistent recording of endoscopies and, with more widespread use, improve the quality of procedures. Systematic video recording is an important part of the future of endoscopy and it will enormously increase the quality of documentation and has the potential to increase the quality of performance, improve teaching, enhance endoscopy research, and reduce malpractice risk. Prior research suggests that video recording may indeed improve the quality of endoscopies. In one study, researchers at the University of Oklahoma found that when providers recorded their colonoscopies, they detected significantly more hyperplastic polyps (Gastrointest Endosc 2012;75[1]:127-133).
