Somryst is a digital therapeutic software company that specializes in prescription digital therapeutics for cognitive behavioral therapy. It optimizes and analyzes insomnia symptoms, therapeutic analysis tools, and treatment planning features to treat individuals with insomnia. It was founded in 2020 and is based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Somryst® is the first and only prescription digital therapeutic indicated to treat chronic insomnia. Somryst is intended to improve insomnia symptoms by providing neurobehavioral intervention (cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia – CBT-I) to adults 22 years of age and older with chronic insomnia.

Even better, improvements to insomnia symptoms were maintained when we followed up at 6 and 12 months after treatment. Somryst was tested under the name Sleep Healthy Using the Internet (SHUTi), an early version of Somryst with equivalent content. In clinical studies, Somryst demonstrated persistent results at 6- and 12-month follow-ups. Somryst users may not experience any or all of these benefits.

Somryst provides a clinician facing dashboard that allows healthcare providers to track patient treatment and progress. The clinician dashboard displays information about patients’ use of Somryst, including the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI)1, the Patient Health Questionnaire 8 (PHQ-8)2 scores, and sleep metrics derived from nightly sleep diaries.
