DESCRIPTION

Our evidence-based care programs are built with clinicians to anticipate patient needs and proactively offer additional support during key points in care journeys where things could go off track — such as right before or after surgery, after the birth of a child, or being newly diagnosed with a chronic condition. We offer this support to patients through conversational, two-way texting that feels as simple as chatting with friends and family, but is backed by AI and natural language processing to intelligently answer common questions and triage concerns to the care team directly into the EHR or Memora’s own dashboard. Clinicians can see message history and jump seamlessly into the conversation with the patient or chat in-thread, provider-to-provider, to coordinate care — helping patients feel more satisfied with their care, and clinicians more valued in how they deliver it.

Differentiators vs internal options

Existing options at health systems today likely do not impact patient experience and clinical care to the degree the organization desires. Memora Health offers a modernized solution that can take your under-performing systems and tools, and supercharge them to meet patients where they are.

Differentiators vs competitors

Memora Health offers an innovative way to support patients outside the clinic setting through its AI-powered platform that intelligently combines device-based and patient-reported data to comprehensively monitor patient performance. Beyond just device-based data collection, Memora’s communication platform includes care pathways that are deployed through an intelligent SMS-based communication engine, as well as virtual visit and phone call capabilities to fully support patients in a home-based setting.

Gives time back to busy clinicians

"Communicating with our patients once they return home is critical to driving engagement and care plan adherence, but the current process is extremely time consuming and doesn’t scale to meet the high-volume of demand. Memora’s platform streamlines the post-discharge process and gives time back to busy clinicians to focus on more immediate issues."

Top 20 remote patient monitoring companies among pediatric hospitals
Remote patient monitoring isn’t a novel idea in pediatrics—for certain chronic pediatric conditions, it’s been the standard of care for years. But recent device and software innovations, coupled with the larger shift toward virtual care, mean that pediatric hospitals have more and better options than ever. User-friendly patient engagement tools and flexible device options keep patients and caregivers/parents involved in the care process and more likely to adhere to recommended care plans. Providers can take advantage of better data collection and sophisticated data analysis tools to inform treatment recommendations, decrease hospital and clinic traffic, decrease their administrative burden and boost revenue.

Top 20 remote patient monitoring companies among academic medical centers
What do academic health systems want when it comes to digital care and remote patient monitoring products? It’s complicated, according to a 2021 Healthcare Innovation report. Fortunately, a wealth of versatile, scalable, almost infinitely customizable options exist to help care teams at academic medical centers deliver cost-effective remote care to just about anyone, anywhere—regardless of age, tech literacy or access to devices. Other platforms are even being utilized to identify study candidates and remotely collect data to support decentralized clinical trials.

20 Most Popular Remote Monitoring Companies Among Rural Hospitals
Available digital healthcare solutions are evolving and improving rapidly, transforming how healthcare organizations meet patients’ needs. Few healthcare facilities have stood to benefit from the rise of telehealth technology as much as rural hospitals, which often serve as the primary source of outpatient services for underserved local communities. But recently, rural hospitals have struggled to sustain the high levels of outpatient care they typically provide. Additionally, hospitals in rural areas rank last when it comes to telehealth adoption, which has left them poorly prepared to take part in the shift to virtual-first care and put their financial health at risk. According to a recent McKinsey report, that will soon change, as rural hospitals increasingly turn to remote patient monitoring solutions to provide better, more accessible primary care and improve coordination with regionally scarce specialists. To do so, they’ll need to choose the right platform for their use case.

Q&A with Martha Lawrence of AccendoWave: Harnessing pain data to address health equity
AccendoWave’s Remote Monitoring Solution objectively measures pain and provides real-time pain data. Pain is one of the primary reasons patients access health care and a primary driver of cost, but since pain data can’t be extracted from electronic health records, health systems don’t have any data or insight about these costs. Additionally, pain has a bias problem: women and pain, ethnicity and pain, seniors and pain. Their number one complaint is often that their pain isn’t believed. If health care systems are serious about their health equity pledges, they must address pain bias with technology to validate patient pain. Retraining the entire clinical workforce just isn’t an option.

Q&A with Anish Sebastian of Babyscripts: Eliminating barriers to pregnancy care
Babyscripts offers a clinically validated obstetrics-specific solution for remote delivery of precision pregnancy care. Through a mobile app and remote monitoring experiences, it targets the problems generated from the critical shortage of obstetrical providers in the U.S., as well as systemic and structural failures that create barriers to care for low-income and minority women. Our solution addresses an outdated model for pregnancy care, social determinants of health barriers and an increasing demand for virtual care solutions. Across the country, hospitals are closing their OB or ED units, making it harder to access quality care for delivery and forcing parents to travel farther for their appointments. Half of rural counties do not have a practicing OB-GYN and more are lacking a midwife.

Frequently asked questions about remote patient monitoring
For decades, remote patient monitoring (RPM) consisted of paper logs to track vital signs and symptoms and phone calls between appointments. While blood pressure logs and weight tracking were useful for individual patients, there was no practical way to design, deploy and scale a remote patient monitoring program for an entire patient population. But rapid hardware and software innovation, coupled with the widespread adoption of desktop and mobile devices, made smart and efficient remote patient monitoring a reality.

Conversational AI is an advanced technology that allows machines to understand, process, and respond to human language in a way that is both contextually relevant and interactive. Within the healthcare sector, this technology is increasingly deployed to automate routine tasks and deliver a more robust and personalized patient experience. Conversational AI leverages a combination of machine learning, natural language processing, and occasionally deep learning to interpret and respond to user inputs, with a conversational user interface that mimics human interaction. Digital health companies deploy conversational AI through chatbots, voice assistants, messaging apps, or any other type of platform where natural language interactions occur.

The Transformative Potential of Conversational AI
For healthcare providers, conversational AI could have a significant impact on operational efficiency. AI has historically excelled at handling high volume routine tasks that consume significant staff time and resources: appointment scheduling, prescription refills, department and provider routing, for example. Conversational AI will not only improve the performance of handling these tasks but will support healthcare providers in addressing the long tail of use cases that are individually less frequent but in aggregate consume time. By allowing healthcare professionals to focus on more complex and urgent tasks that demand their expertise and experience, adopting conversational AI can also improve job satisfaction as healthcare professionals can devote their time to more meaningful and engaging patient interactions.

Navigating the New Frontier: Protecting Patient Data in Conversational AI and Beyond
With conversational AI involved, legal frameworks like HIPAA and GDPR still apply, but involve added complexity and dimensions. Within legal frameworks like HIPAA and GDPR, conversational AI raises new questions about patient privacy and compliance. For instance, can a chatbot be HIPAA-compliant? How do we ensure that the data processed through conversational interfaces receive the same level of security as traditional electronic health records? Legal authorities and legislative bodies are starting to tackle these issues, but healthcare providers must stay ahead of the curve to ethically utilize these tools and ensure legal compliance.
