Use Cases

Description:
As patients graduate from the NICU to the PICU, they may still be consuming breast milk, donor milk as well as complex/mixed formulas. These patients may also travel to different units in the hospital for care (i.e. oncology, cardiology). It is essential that the hospital uses a feeding management system that tracks inventory as it moves to new locations, tracks feed expirations per bottle, tracks actions and activities per bottle (i.e. freeze/thaw, additives/fortifiers), and much more.
Pediatric use cases:
Children's hospitals use Keriton to manage breast milk, donor milk and formula feeds for Pediatric ICUs, as well as on Medicine and Surgery floors.
Users:
• Kare Nurse, an app for nurses and nursing leadership • Kare Mom, an app for mothers and partners • Kare Lactation, an app for lactation consultants • Kare Tech, an app for milk/nutrition technicians, as well as supervising dietitians and nutritionists

Differentiators

Differentiators vs EHR Functionality:

EMRs only prevent 1 error type: the baby-to-bottle match. Keriton is designed for the NICU/SCN, MIU, PICU and pediatric workflows to prevents 6 out of 6 error types. That includes the common touch points before and after the baby-to-bottle scan (ex. receipt, combine, fortify, split, administration/feed, discharge).

Differentiators vs Competitors:

How parents view their NICU and pediatric care experience improves with Keriton.

Parents love tracking milk production and inventory. They love receiving pictures of their babies. Communication with staff via the Kare Mom app improves their perception of the care they receive and care team members. These themes come up in the Kare Mom app store reviews too.
