The Marani platform is intended for use in all pregnant individuals including both low- and high-risk patients. High-risk includes those with limited access to insurance or consistent healthcare, obese individuals, those over 35 and those with pre-existing chronic conditions. Low risk includes all other pregnancies who may have difficulties accessing prenatal care where remote monitoring enables improved access to care. We think it is imperative to monitor those deemed low-risk at the outset of their pregnancy as low-risk can turn to high-risk quickly. We give clinicians the ability to adjust protocols as patients evolve.
Factors outlined by the NIH that lead to high-risk pregnancy include:
Existing health conditions:
Age, High blood pressure, PCOS, Diabetes, Kidney disease, autoimmune disease, thyroid disease, obesity, HIV/AIDS, Zika
Social determinants of health:
Access to transportation, food, medicine, health care services, safe place to live, housing, time off work, and childcare. Alcohol, tobacco, or drug use/abuse.
Mental Health:
Anxiety or depression
Conditions of Pregnancy:
Multiple gestation, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia or eclampsia, a previous preterm birth, a previous c-section delivery, or birth defects/genetic conditions of the fetus.
End-users of our solution includes both clinicians and pregnant individuals. Clinical users are OBGYNs, MFMs, nurses/midwifes and hospital personnel. All pregnant individuals including both low- and high-risk patients. High-risk includes those with limited access to insurance or consistent healthcare, obese individuals, those over 35 and those with pre-existing chronic conditions. Low risk includes all other pregnancies who may have difficulties accessing prenatal care where remote monitoring enables improved access to care. All postpartum individuals will benefit from remote monitoring, especially in the areas of mental health and social determinants of health. Our platform supports a 12-month postpartum protocol.
Remote patient monitoring capabilities with specialized functions for pregnancy, prenatal care, and postpartum care.
The Marani solution differs from other offerings in the marketplace by bringing together a more holistic set of medical, mental, and social health data to present to patients and their care teams. We use disruptive AI/ML-enabled technology to provide care teams with actionable and intelligent decision support. Uniquely, we provide 24/7 direct access to maternal-fetal medicine physicians who specialize in high-risk pregnancies and have licensure in all 50 states. We are bridging the gap for those who lack access to care and giving providers the insights they need, when they need them, to improve outcomes.
Marani is modernizing the pregnancy experience from prenatal through postpartum. Using novel technology and AI, easy to use provisioned, connected cellular devices, the Marani platform remotely collects rich clinical, mental, and social health data on expecting patients and their babies. The platform provides mothers peace of mind with insight into their own pregnancy, while providing care teams comprehensive, actionable data to improve outcomes, access, and efficiency. We offer standard and customizable protocols ready for delivery, and a thoughtful alert system with workflow pathways to the appropriate team members. Importantly, our solution allows for prescribed scheduled readings to support Care Team coverage. We also offer a 24/7 Clinical Care team to augment any provider’s staff. The team is led by Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians and includes nurse navigators, lactation consultants, and mental health professionals. We offer a 12-month postpartum program to monitor for postpartum depression and alert providers when those indicators appear. In short, the M•care System by Marani is an end-to-end maternal care solution supporting all pregnant individuals and their providers with the care they need based on their individual pregnancies.
