After decades of working to implement evidence-based practices in real-world settings, Kelly Koerner, PhD and Linda Dimeff, PhD turned their attention to behavioral health’s most dire problem: the rising rates of suicide. In other ventures, they have used technology to provide real-time training and decision support to clinicians. That success gave rise to the question: Can a virtual guide help emergency departments assess and treat suicidal patients? With funding from NIMH, they set out to answer this question, ultimately launching Jaspr Health to bring innovative solutions to crisis-care settings.
