Description

Product Description:
Think egg-freezing, but for men. Legacy is solving the 50% decline in male fertility through a consumer-friendly, at-home solution for men interested in testing and freezing their most valuable assets. The team works between Geneva, Switzerland and Cambridge, MA and is operational across the United States. We are part of the Harvard Innovation Labs' inaugural 'Launch Lab X' cohort for alumni running companies with the potential to change the world. Legacy recently won TechCrunch Disrupt and has been featured in the NYT, Popular Science, The Independent, and many others. -- Legacy's backstory: When a dear friend unexpectedly discovers he has cancer at the age of 30, you have to come to terms with your mortality, maybe for the first time. When he finds out he can no longer have children, you begin to wonder if you ever want to start a family and if so, when? When his partner leaves him, you start to ask what he could have done differently and what you would have done in his position. Legacy was founded to ensure that forward-looking men can lock in their future and store their healthiest sperm discreetly and with a trusted provider. The fact is, the modern man faces many risks, from the chemicals in his food to the radiation from his mobile phone to the diseases that others carry. There is a reason why male fertility has declined so drastically in the past 40 years. At the same time, humanity is undergoing a fundamental transformation that brings us closer to the singularity each day. Google's chief futurist - Ray Kurzweil - believes that day when humans live forever could arrive by 2029. Yet men produce a new genetic mutation every 8 months. By taking a snapshot of your healthiest, highest-quality genetic material today, you are also opening the door to the scientific advances of tomorrow. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and operating at the Harvard Innovation Lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Legacy aims to simplify the process of protecting and strengthening your legacy. The logo of Legacy was inspired by the connection between the past, the present, and the future. Inspired by Viking mythology, the logo represents every possible stroke of the Nordic alphabet, and thus every possible word, sentence, and story that has been written in the past or will be written in the future. What will your next chapter look like?
