This author-facing software allows clinicians at our partner institutions (with no coding knowledge) to quickly and easily “drag and drop” their way to building and editing pathways for their own usage. The reviewing and updating processes are maintained by our institutional partners; avoMD’s team and technology facilitates these processes by: (i) including guideline alert scans; (ii) providing recommendations on usability on the construction of the pathway steps, and (iii) enabling the entire collaborative process to take place on a single shared software tool.

We are a team physicians and informaticians from Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and Mt. Sinai that transform clinical care pathways into interactive apps that clinicians love so provider organizations can ensure the practice of evidence-based medicine and enhance patient care. The pathway software can be accessed via our native mobile app (iOS, Android, and iPad) or on the desktop and can integrate into the EHR. avoMD has 6 hospital and urgent care partnerships, including one with PM Pediatrics (the largest pediatrics urgent care in the US). The team recently won Columbia and Penn Medicine's annual startup competitions, joined 500 Startups and StartUp Health, and received a major investment from Columbia’s Endowment. ActX is a genomic decision support service that is tightly integrated within the EHR. With ActX implemented, every time a prescription order is written in the routine medication order workflow, it will be checked for drug-genome interactions and the prescriber alerted as needed. Provider friendly, and CAP accredited initial results will be generated and returned to the provider in the clinical inbasket. A dynamic and up-to-date Genomic Profile for each patient will be available in their chart. Patient genetic data can be imported from any clinically valid source. The knowledgebase content is easily customizable and includes content for pharmacogenomics, actionable genetic risks, and carrier statuses.
