Differentiators vs internal options

b.well Connected Health distinguishes itself from traditional EHRs by centering on a unified consumer experience, facilitating health systems' progression towards value-based care, and adopting hybrid care models. This unique approach fosters lifelong loyalty between organizations and their communities. b.well's integration of Longitudinal Health Data, encompassing HIPAA-compliant claims, and PROA insights, is remarkable. Utilizing an optimized FHIR server, b.well delivers fast, cost-effective scalability and performance. It simplifies data conversion with pre-built FHIR mapping and refinement tools while providing real-time data streaming for flexible integration.

b.well's tag-based FHIR security mode enhances customer trust through explicit consent and preference gathering, and its efficient identity management system ensures secure user data access. In addition, personalized communication is enabled through machine learning analyses of health records and preferences, and Natural Language Processing is utilized for user-friendly care searches. b.well also customizes care access protocols and employs FHIR-based dynamic questions to streamline data collection, improving care coordination. Finally, advanced clinical rules (CQL) enhance quality measure accuracy, flexibility, and interoperability, reflecting b.well's commitment to transforming population health.

Differentiators vs competitors

Consumers primarily expect two things from healthcare: prompt accessibility (the digital front door) and anticipatory communication about their health needs. b.well solves for this very consumer need while driving innovation and value to healthcare organization. Below is what b.well has and can deliver that the competition can't:

  • Extensive Data Connections: With 50,000+ data connections, we harness the power of external data sources to enrich insights and drive informed decision-making, setting us apart from others.
  • FHIR Data Model: Unparalleled value by future-proofing systems, facilitating modernization, and rapid onboarding of new partners. This robust foundation supports emerging use cases, such as LLMs & GenAI, enhancing flexibility and speed to market.
  • Precision & Proactive Healthcare: Unlike traditional portals that are episodic and reactive, we prioritize proactive engagement, ensuring we're there for users before an episode occurs, fostering stronger patient-provider relationships and better overall care.
  • Clinical Quality Language: Our integration of CQL enables you to transition towards value-based care. By standardizing clinical logic, CQL enhances precision and consistency in care delivery, improving outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Consent Management Framework: Robust consent management framework ensures compliance with privacy regulations while facilitating seamless data sharing and collaboration among stakeholders. This capability instills trust and transparency,
  • Digital Identity Solutions: Secure and seamless authentication process, safeguarding sensitive information while streamlining access for authorized users. This enhances data security and confidentiality, bolstering patient trust and confidence in our platform.

b.well's engagement methodology spans outside of a smartphone experience and offers omnichannel communication across text/SMS and email.

AVIA GUIDE
What is multimodal?
Text IVR for those without a smartphone.
b.well Connected Health Platform's approach to Whole person care

b.well addresses care needs, quality measures and identifies gaps in care by utilizing digitized, evidence-based medicine guidelines (EBMG). These guidelines are codified and processed through a clinical rules engine (CQL), enabling the platform to generate automated and personalized care recommendations for users. We leverage comprehensive data analysis to identify individuals at different levels of risk within our patient population. By analyzing their medical history, health conditions, demographic information, and other relevant factors, we segment consumers into different risk categories. This segmentation helps us prioritize interventions and allocate resources effectively. Once consumers are stratified into risk categories, we provide personalized recommendations tailored to their specific needs, including SDoH. These recommendations can include preventive screenings, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, community resources, or disease management programs. By aligning recommendations with individual risk profiles, we ensure that consumers receive targeted guidance and support. We gather insights into patients' behaviors, preferences, and clinical indicators through their interactions within our platform. By monitoring their engagement levels, health actions, and outcomes, we gain a deeper understanding of their needs and preferences and understand what it takes to get them to take action and ultimately complete the action. These insights enable us to deliver personalized recommendations that are relevant, meaningful, and aligned with their health goals.

AVIA GUIDE
What is whole person care?
Considers social and behavioral determinants of health and adapts support as appropriate.

A convenient, connected patient experience

“b.well Connected Health's vision is very much aligned with ThedaCare by empowering each person to improve their health and well-being by transforming the way they engage in their own unique healthcare journey. ThedaCare is reinventing health care by being a proactive partner in health, which means a transition to value-based care and away from the traditional fee-for-service model, leading to an overall increase in wellness visits, predictive screenings and telemedicine, as well as a decrease in non-emergent ED visits. ThedaCare's partnership with b.well is helping move our vision into reality. Providing a convenient, connected patient experience helps us better predict, prevent illness and create value in everything we do.”

Going beyond the digital front door to unlock precision healthcare through data and ecosystem unification
A consumer-grade digital patient experience solution must facilitate the holistic integration of all patient data, disparate technology solutions, and care services to deliver an experience that’s worth investing in — for both the patient and the health system at large. Otherwise, organizations risk introducing yet another fragmented solution into the market, one that fails to adequately address the diverse needs of patients.

A buyer’s guide to solution interoperability
Solution interoperability is the ability of different healthcare industry software systems, devices, and applications to communicate with each other, seamlessly exchange data and information, and work together in a coordinated fashion. It is the central nervous system that powers health system business objectives and strategy. Until relatively recently, interoperability was largely an IT function with a point-to-point approach. Policy changes like the 2014 HITEC Act and the 2016 21st Century Cures Act established broader data sharing standards and created the necessary regulatory framework to support effective and secure information sharing. In 2020, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) issued the Cures Act Final Rule, which clarified and enforced regulations related to information sharing among healthcare organizations and patients’ access to their electronic health data.

A buyer’s guide to conversational AI
Conversational AI is an advanced technology that allows machines to understand, process, and respond to human language in a way that is both contextually relevant and interactive. Within the healthcare sector, this technology is increasingly deployed to automate routine tasks and deliver a more robust and personalized patient experience. Conversational AI leverages a combination of machine learning, natural language processing, and occasionally deep learning to interpret and respond to user inputs, with a conversational user interface that mimics human interaction. Digital health companies deploy conversational AI through chatbots, voice assistants, messaging apps, or any other type of platform where natural language interactions occur.

Buyer’s guide to the digital front door
What is the digital front door? Digital front door describes a set of interactive and transaction-ready capabilities to enable digital interactions between patients and health systems throughout the care journey, from pre-service to follow-up and payment. When leveraged appropriately, a digital front door strategy can improve patient experiences, drive access, and reduce (or eliminate) reliance on paper-based workflows and manual processes.

The Competitive Edge: Why Every Health System Needs a Robust Digital Front Door
Patients demand convenient healthcare access akin to online services. A robust digital front door, integrating online scheduling, telehealth, patient portals, symptom checkers, and payment management, is crucial. It offers a competitive edge by enhancing accessibility, patient loyalty, brand perception, market reach, revenue, and leveraging data for insights, ensuring health systems meet modern expectations and stay competitive. Modern patients rightly demand that healthcare access be as straightforward as ordering a meal online or hailing a ride, which is still far from the norm.

The Right Approach to Your Digital Front Door Enhances Patient Satisfaction and Retention
According to a report from Accenture, patients are increasingly switching providers, and at least a portion say it’s because of the digital experience. In fact, the report goes on to show that digital engagement is a strong predictor of loyalty. Increasingly, patients say they are less likely to stay with a provider who doesn’t provide a good digital experience, and a bad digital experience effects how they feel about their entire healthcare interaction. In other words, great care or bedside manner doesn’t mean a patient will stay if the rest of their experience doesn’t meet their needs.

Unlocking the true potential of healthcare RCM: How a digital front door makes all the difference
In today’s rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, optimizing revenue cycle management (RCM) in healthcare is paramount for providers aiming to maintain financial health while delivering exceptional patient care. However, traditional RCM solutions suffer from glaring inefficiencies that lead to frustrated patients and lost revenue. Enter the digital front door (DFD)—a holistic approach that enhances RCM by digitizing and centralizing various aspects of the patient journey. By streamlining everything from intake to bill pay, the DFD drives efficiency and addresses many of the shortcomings of traditional RCM along the way.
