Guava can be used as a patient frontend if your patients frequently have multiple providers not in the same patient portal, or if you don't consider your default patient portal adequate.

Guava can also be used as a data-harvesting tool where you ask patients to collect a more detailed history ahead of an in-depth appointment, rather than relying on their memory or relying on admins to fax a tiny subset of past records. Patients are able to compile printed or PDF records from home, as well as lab providers like Quest and Labcorp and other labs performed outside an EHR. They can then share this with you in a combined, de-duplicated, concise printable format.
