Description

Product Description:

Clinical leaders are able to easily customize workflows, then seamlessly disseminate protocols to frontline providers. Clinical Pathways are interactive decision trees with embedded links to clinical orders. AgileMD now has more than 4000 pathways live across emergency medicine, hospital medicine, surgery, oncology and primary care.

About AgileMD:

At AgileMD, we are building the most advanced real-time predictive analytics and clinical pathways platform for hospitals.

To date, AgileMD tools have been used on more than 4 million patient encounters by more than 135,000 clinical users in over 250 hospitals, including some of the nation's leading academic medical centers. AgileMD's eCART clinical deterioration prediction software is FDA cleared and the first AI-powered early warning device for ward patients to go through the FDA process with real-world prospective data.

AgileMD is backed by premier start-up partners MATTER, YCombinator, and Rock Health, and our cutting-edge analytics are built on more than decade of ongoing research at the University of Chicago. In 2021, AgileMD garnered nearly $3 million in combined federal research and development funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).

Product Description:
Initial Insights is the first tier offering of the NICUtrition® platform. It provides the ability for a hospital to track key performance measures across the neonatal intensive care unit in a retrospective or prospective report. With a one-time data extract from a hospital’s EMR, including (up to) 5 years of historical information around feeding, growth and diagnoses, our Initial Insights reports will show milestones with 'smart' growth charts and z-scores and an outcomes analysis for the feeding and growth data collected at the individual patient and unit levels. Additionally, with EMR integration, Initial Insights is provided to the hospital via real-time access for ongoing analytics.
About Astarte Medical:
Setting the course for better health begins at the core. As a precision-care solution provider, Astarte Medical helps neonatal care professionals improve patient outcomes in the first 1,000 days of life by leveraging the power of automated software and predictive analytics to deliver personalized nutritional care to preterm and critically-ill infants in the NICU. We are initially focused on developing digital tools designed to standardize feeding and optimize nutrition for preterm infants, particularly for those born before 34 weeks gestational age. Astarte Medical was founded in 2016, when serial entrepreneurs and venture investors partnered with a clinical scientist and other nutrition thought leaders. The company has seen 100% growth since 2019 and currently operates with $8.5M raised from top venture financing firms and 12 FTEs. NICUtrition® by Astarte Medical, is the first real-time, nutrition management support solution, designed to standardize feeding and optimize nutrition to improve outcomes specifically for preterm infants. It allows neonatology specialists, nursing professionals, dietiitans and department heads to effectively automate their health system’s feeding protocols, simplify workflows & measure compliance for more consistent quality care delivery, while leveraging predictive analytics to support data-enabled clinical decision-making for improved patient outcomes.

Use Cases

Description:
  • AgileMD Clinical Pathways are used throughout ambulatory and inpatient settings to improve clinician adherence to evolving guidelines and supply management,. Their use has led to reductions in unnecessary diagnostic testing and improved timeliness of medication administration.
  • These EHR-embedded guidelines streamline order entry and documentation, giving clinical teams access to the most current protocols within their workflow. Health systems use AgileMD pathways to convert paper and PDF protocols into actionable guidance. This is done by wiring clinical guidelines directly into the Epic and Cerner workflows that nurses and doctors are already using. Embedded pathways allow providers get a visual understanding of a patient’s status and order the most appropriate tests, treatments, and referrals without leaving the flowchart. Easily-modifiable content allows health systems to quickly disseminate protocol updates and ensure the most relevant evidence is at the care team's fingertips.
Pediatric use cases:

Like in adult settings, there are several use cases for pediatric clinical pathways. Our customers, including several children's hospitals, use them to address the most important triage and treatment clinical workflows.

Users:

Inpatient and ambulatory clinical staff.

Description:

Planning for rounds - addressing burnout

Pediatric use cases:

Differentiators vs EHR Functionality:

EMRs were built as billing support tools and evolved into medical data repositories. Nuanced data of clinical importance can be difficult to access and currently requires dedicated technical personnel with specific skills to partner with clinical staff in a laborious approach to extract specific data. In particular, flow sheets utilized in an intensive care setting, such as the NICU, are particularly challenging to access and review in a structured format.

NICUtrition Initial Insights was built to liberate NICU feeding, growth and diagnosis data from EMRs and provide robust visualizations showing patient milestones and outcomes metrics.

Differentiators vs Competitors:

NICUtrition is fully integrated with the EMR, enabling real-time access of granular, clinical data and the ability to deliver high quality support within existing workflow. We have developed properietary tools to augment EHR integration, supporting overtaxed IT groups within hospitals to get up and running and deliver value and return on investment in months.
