Implementing X-Plain for Tablets is as simple as downloading the X-Plain mobile app on your Android or iPad tablet. In the app stores, our app is called “X-Plain” for iPads and “X-Plain Pro” for Android devices.

X-Plain tutorials are multimedia presentations that simplify information. They ask questions to verify patient comprehension and address misconceptions.

Product Capabilities

Interactive Tutorials X-Plain tutorials are self-paced, interactive learning tools. The programs feature animations, illustrations, and large text to engage the viewer, as well as on-screen prompts and interactive questions with corrective feedback to ensure understanding. Videos X-Plain videos are multimedia presentations that are designed to educate patients and improve health outcomes while saving staff time. The videos are self-playing versions of the interactive tutorials. Illustrated Handouts Illustrated handouts present comprehensive information on a health topic through text and illustrations. The handouts use large fonts, short paragraphs and are balanced with white space so that they are easy to read and understand. A Variety of Delivery Methods Clients and partners can deliver X-Plain Patient Education through their EMRs, patient portals, public websites, tablets, and bedside TVs. At home, patients can review content on their mobile phones.

Evidence-Based Medical Content We rely on quality medical and academic research, healthcare best practices, and recommendations from medical experts when developing our written materials. At least one member of the Medical Advisory Board collaborates with our writers to ensure that each title in the X-Plain® library meets national guidelines and standards of care for evidence-based medicine. Unbiased Health Information Health information is most useful when it puts the patient’s needs first. This guiding principle ensures that any discussion about treatment options is free of advertising and other forms of bias.

X-Plain Patient Education electronically documents the completion and comprehension of our patient education programs on PEI’s servers through the Android app. We offer this product when clients cannot document completion and comprehension of patient education sessions in their EMRs or patient portals.

X-Plain simplifies information through multimedia, including animations, illustrations, and full narration with captions. X-Plain tutorials display interactive questions with feedback to gauge understanding and dispel misconceptions. Content is written around a 6th grade level. Educational Formats for Any Learning Style X-Plain adapts to the learning preferences of each patient. We provide identical content in the form of illustrated handouts, videos, and interactive tutorials. This allows health systems to accommodate varying patient needs while maintaining standardized education across the enterprise.

Once digital tools are ordered, Xealth can manage all elements of delivery and enrollment, either by sending them directly via email or SMS or via the patient portal (stock or custom-built). As patients use these programs, Xealth tracks engagement and can send reminder notifications.

Tthe Xealth platform has successfully deployed a wide variety of connected device solutions within its digital health formulary across the client base. Remote Patient Monitoring solutions deployed include both broad-based RPM such as VitalTech and Harmonize, and also focused RPM solutions such as Babyscripts, Force Therapeutics, Glooko, and Rimidi. Xealth enhances the native capabilities of each of these RPM solutions through its unique integration within the EHR, allowing for the ordering and monitoring of the RPM solution based on configurable use cases. This integration creates a seamless experience for both patients and clinicians. Xealth’s proprietary dashboard provides insights to the impact of digital solutions, allowing for health systems to gain a better understanding if the solutions they have deployed are having the intended impact.

Xealth’s Digital Command Center provides engagement data for digital tools and content deployed through Xealth. Health systems can see how many patients open an email/text message, click on a card in digital care, and watch or view content. This allows the health system to see if content is being used by patients. Health systems can change the time of deployment of a solution (send sooner or later) and/or send reminders, when there is a lower level of engagement than expected. Xealth’s monitor tab, which is integrated into Epic, displays third party application dashboards within Epic, providing a seamless experience for the clinician. The clinician is also able to see engagement data for content, such as videos/pdfs.
