Heidi AI Care Partner

We are a health care system that includes 14 community and specialty hospitals, academic medical centers and teaching hospitals with more than 4,700 physicians. Heidi was a product that some of our providers brought to our attention and initial pilot results were very promisining. We are now rolling out across the organization and already have more than 2,000 users and rapidly growing. 

There are 2 features of Heidi that makes it stand out from others and which have been key for adoption at our orgaanization. 

1. Templates - These are essentially the set of instructions or prompts that helps Heidi generate the note in the format the user wants. These templates can be user specific or shared within a dept or the entire organization. This has given our providers the ability to be creative and not restrict the use of Heidi to any particular type of document or care setting. Our providers have used Heidi in Ambulatory, ED, Inpatient and Sub Acute Rehab settings and for a variety of documents including patient explainers, utilization reviews, transition of care etc. 

2. Context - This is the ability to provide context to the visit. This could be different based on what the patient was coming in for as well as the specialty or dept. It could be the past note, discharge summary, labs, test results etc. 

It is important to point out that since Heidi is till working on a full integration with Epic, we are using it unintegrated (while beta testing the integration). Decoupling the AI scribe from existing processes allowed our providers to identify the best individualized use cases for them - which was above and beyond what we anticipated when we rolled out an ambient scribe. So this ended up being a pro for us rather than a con.

Additionally - the team have been true partners in our rolloit. They listened to our feedback on features, worked hard to scale and stabilize the product and are very responsive to our users. This has been another reason that adoption has been great at our organization. 

Overall - we have been very pleased with both the product as well as the team at Heidi.
