Alelo’s Enskill platform uses conversational avatar technology to create Virtual Patient Navigators that listen to patient concerns, answer questions, and connect patients with educational and other resources. All recommendations are grounded in accredited content that is approved by the healthcare provider, eliminating the risk of hallucinations. Enskill uses generative AI to transform a healthcare organization’s existing content on the Web and YouTube into an interactive learning resource. Enskill develops a profile of each user (patient, caregiver, healthcare professional) and their situation, and uses it to personalize responses.

Enskill Virtual Patient Navigators improve the quality of patient and caregiver experiences. They support users with low health literacy. Resource Navigators can promote treatment compliance and improve health outcomes. They promote patient engagement, develop self-efficacy, and lessen anxiety and stress. Enskill Virtual Patient Navigators align well with telehealth initiatives.

Enskill also provides simulated patients and caregivers that train healthcare workers (e.g., patient navigators, community health workers) in patient support skills, and helps them keep abreast of new developments in treatment. Trainees develop skills much faster and are able to apply them immediately in a clinical setting.

Pieces Chat ensures robust privacy and security, particularly when handling sensitive Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) data, through compliance with HIPAA, SOC2, and TX-RAMP standards. HIPAA safeguards the confidentiality and integrity of patient health information, ensuring all interactions meet strict healthcare privacy requirements. SOC2 focuses on maintaining data security, availability, and confidentiality to prevent unauthorized access or breaches. Enskill Resource Navigators ask open-ended questions to understand the patient's concerns, and where they are on their care journey. They ask follow-up questions as needed so that they can provide the most relevant information.

Enskill integrates with health systems' existing patient information websites and digital channels. Enskill tools are able to automatically extract metadata from health systems' YouTube channels and podcasts.

All user data is anonymized to protect patient privacy. Alelo privacy safeguards have been subjected to IRB (Institutional Review Board) review. Enskill complies with California digital privacy standards.
