Product Description:
PreMedicus® ER is a novel user-friendly patient facing mobile app for digitally guided self-diagnosis that accurately triages over 100 medical conditions. PreMedicus® ER delivers real-time hyper-personal triage advice with in-app 911 call capability, and GPS guidance to nearby pharmacies, physician offices, urgent care facilities or emergency departments as deemed appropriate by the Triage Engine. PreMedicus® ER can be integrated with telemedicine platforms and the digital front door of urgent care, ER and retail pharmacy facilities. PreMedicus® ER initially collects and organizes patient responses to a carefully crafted health questionnaire to create a custom Health Report. The Health Report helps the patient understand their current health status and risks for future problems in easy to understand language. In times of acute illness, the PreMedicus® ER app takes the patient through a brief targeted interview, and in under five minutes renders a reliable Preliminary Diagnosis and accurate Triage Decision using data from current symptoms and their personal health database. The PreMedicus® ER app delivers relevant health education and advice curated from world-class sources about the likely diagnoses, and then activates global GPS to guide the patient to the closest appropriate facility regardless of where in the world they are located. The patient can share their Illness Report with telemedicine or in-person health providers and family members. We performed a real-world pilot study in a busy inner city academic hospital that cares for a predominantly disadvantaged population with high uninsured and Medicaid rates. We proved that our digital approach to Preliminary Diagnosis and Triage was as reliable as that of the ER physicians. The majority of adult patients regardless of age found the app easy to use, and expressed interest in using this tool. Our pilot study data is available upon request. PreMedicus® ER was released in January 2020. We are eager to partner with a hospital system or health insurer in a pilot study of this unique self-diagnosis, triage and health maintenance tool in a large Medicaid population.
About PreMedicus LLC:
PreMedicus® LLC is an Atlanta based digital medicine startup founded in 2015 by Pulmonary and Critical Care physician Dr. Tony Kimani. While in China with his Georgia Institute of Technology MBA class in 2014, he saw patients waiting long hours for ER care with advanced smart phones in hand. He was inspired to design and commercialize patient-friendly mobile apps for critical healthcare needs. Bright.md is accessed via SSO with EHR portal credentials. Patient interviews are available on-demand from a mobile or desktop with just a 3G connection, in English and Spanish.

Bright.md provides an asynchronous virtual care solution in which a patient completes an online symptom assessment, which is reviewed by a provider who recommends a treatment plan and diagnosis. Data required for treatment is collected via a series of clinical interview questions that the patient provides answers to via multiple choice, open text, or by uploading a photo relative to their concern. Allergies, medications, and problem list for the patient is brought in from the EHR and made visible to the provider who is providing treatment.

Bright.md translates the patient interview into a chart-ready SOAP note and makes it readily available via MDM interface for integration as an encounter in the EHR. Bright.md presents all necessary information for the provider to confirm the diagnosis, change the diagnosis, or escalate the patient to a higher modality of care if they feel that treatment cannot be provided asynchronously.

Technical support is provided to our health system customers directly. We offer 24/7 support for our provider users and program administrator users.

Bright.md provides the software solution for health systems to treat 130+ diagnoses virtually, without the use of video (asynchronous telehealth). Patients complete an on-demand interview at any time that captures a thorough symptom assessment while ruling out potentially emergent conditions, just like a face-to-face visit with a clinician. Patients receive questions based on their answers, and if an emergent condition is suspected, the patient is escalated out, with recommended next steps configured by your system. Clinical decision support provides a recommended diagnosis and treatment plan derived from evidence-based guidelines, along with a SOAP formatted chart-note logged as an encounter in your EHR—allowing providers efficiency while preserving autonomy and clinical judgment. Once the provider completes the asynchronous visits, the patient receives a complete after visit summary with treatment instructions and education, along with any prescriptions sent electronically to their preferred pharmacy.
