Product Description:
BeST Practices is the third tier offering of the NICUtrition® platform. It provides the user with a read and write interface to improve the consistency of feeding data collection over-time and across caregivers. Through BeST, we see a high-level view of the patient’s current status, the patient’s feeding schedule (presented in the main part of the screen), and the anthropometric and growth history is displayed over industry percentile charts. Users can seamlessly interact with the automated feed schedules through one-click feeding documentation or by customizing planned feeds as needed. For a given feeding, nurses can view the types and amounts of nutrition to administer. They can also update values to indicate that a feeding was not completed as recommended by the protocol and note any observations that led to a deviation from the protocol recommendation. Clinical notes, like signs of intolerance, captured during feed encounters can now be stored in a structured format and written back to the EMR to reduce documentation time but supply evidence when querying trends and results of care delivery.

Product Capabilities

Brado’s CEP works alongside existing provider directories to facilitate patient exploration and connection to care. This functionality helps patients find the right provider faster—without frustration or confusion—and reduces leakage by keeping them within the branded health system experience.

Brado is ISO 27001 certified, demonstrating our commitment to a globally recognized information security standard. This certification underscores our focus on systematic risk management, business continuity, and continuous improvement of our security practices. Brado undergoes an annual SOC 2 Type II audit, providing independent validation that our security controls are not only well-designed but consistently effective over time. This audit affirms our commitment to SOC 2 Type II compliance, representing the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and availability in how we manage and protect client data. Our Conversational Engagement Platform (CEP) in combination with our digital marketing services are designed to support compliance with HIPAA requirements, including both the Privacy Rule and Security Rule. We implement administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure that all client data—especially Protected Health Information (PHI)—is collected, stored, accessed, and transmitted securely and in accordance with HIPAA standards.

Our platform is built on a cloud-native foundation, enabling it to scale effortlessly as data volumes grow or as new use cases arise. This ensures that we can handle increasing complexity and demand without compromising performance or reliability.

We focus on open standards and APIs, making it easy to integrate with emerging technologies, third-party tools, and partner ecosystems. We are aligning our platform with MCP and A2A, the internet protocols of the agentic AI era, to be ready for tomorrow’s ecosystem of intelligent, collaborative agents. Our platform leverages user feedback loops, and real-world data to continuously refine and optimize its performance.

Brado’s CEP works with existing online scheduling tools and infrastructure, serving hand-offs within the platform for seamless transitions to scheduling systems. The platform is EHR-agnostic, ensuring a consistent experience across systems, and can be configured to support call center workflows.

Brado’s CEP leverages a Mile Zero SEO and paid search strategy to engage patients at the earliest moments of uncertainty—often before they’ve identified a provider or diagnosis. Our multi-lingual platform meets consumers where they are, guiding them through generative AI–powered conversations that assess symptoms and determine the appropriate next step in care. This experience transitions seamlessly with existing scheduling systems, call centers, and EHRs, ensuring smooth hand-offs to the right endpoints—whether that’s a virtual visit, specialist referral, or community resource.

Brado’s CEP intelligently routes patients by assessing their needs in real time and matching them to the most appropriate care option—whether that’s on-demand virtual care, urgent care, primary care, or community-based services. The platform is designed to aggregate available care inventory and flexibly transition between care modes based on acuity, availability, and consumer preference. It can leverage virtual provider pools to optimize resource use and supports broader digital front door capabilities—scheduling, symptom checkers, call centers, and EHRs—to ensure continuity and a frictionless consumer experience

Brado’s CEP offers personalized care management and engagement grounded in a deep understanding of the patient journey, including tensions or sticking points that may hinder a patient from moving forward with care. The platform enables users to input their ZIP code to surface relevant local resources, providers, and services. These unguided interactions are designed to feel intuitive, helping patients take action confidently.

Brado’s CEP is built on nearly 30 years of proprietary insight into the healthcare journey—enabling a level of contextual understanding that surpasses open models. Our deep research with patients, caregivers, and providers across a wide range of therapeutic categories allows the platform to recognize not just what people are asking, but why. This enables our AI to anticipate needs, respond with relevance, and guide users to the right resource or action at the right moment. The result is a shift from reactive automation to a trusted, intelligent companion—offering meaningful, behavior-shaping support that drives better health outcomes.

Brado’s CEP is built on curated resource libraries that prioritize accuracy, safety, and trust. Content is sourced exclusively from client-approved materials and credible medical authorities—such as academic institutions, government health agencies, and leading clinical organizations. Our platform includes built-in guardrails to ensure responses remain safe and evidence-based. Information is continuously reviewed and updated to reflect current best practices, and responses are tailored to meet each patient’s immediate needs with relevance and clarity—helping them make informed decisions with confidence.

Differentiators

Differentiators vs EHR Functionality:
EMRs were built as billing support tools and evolved into medical data repositories. Nuanced data of clinical importance can be difficult to access and currently requires dedicated technical personnel with specific skills to partner with clinical staff in a laborious approach to extract specific data. Today, there are no EMR-integrated platforms or other third party vendors that capture or display a hospital’s feeding protocol in a structured way. Because of this, protocols currently require intense manual calculations to determine care delivery and furthermore a patient’s actual daily feed intakes cannot be easily overlaid on what should be delivered to confirm compliance or adherence with absolute certainty. Neonatologists and dieticians extract data retrospectively in a highly manual way to evaluate the effectiveness of delivered nutrition and care on a preterm infant’s growth. These approaches suffer from laborious data collection, data inconsistencies, and time for reporting. Additionally, limitations in data collection and analysis techniques have prevented hospitals from developing a better understanding of how to translate real-world evidence into effective interventions that could improve health outcomes for all. NICUtrition Bedside Support Tool (BeST Practices) liberates critical data that is currently elusive or lies outside standard EMR APIs, such as “flow sheets”, which remains unavailable without the dedication of technical resources and skilled clinicians.
